Had dinner with coworkers here during a work trip. Our experience was awesome thanks to our waiter Ian. We made it right in time to order off happy hour, we we got pork belly , chicken karaage, and crispy pork belly kakuni from his recommendation. It was all super delicious. We then ordered all of the rolls he recommended: sea 3po, voltron, and hirasama shrimp battle. We did get the barbacoa dumplings and mistakenly for the pork dumplings, but were able to kept them on the house. All the food was great and shareable. It was also enough for 4 people. We chose both dessert options (yuzu pie and Tokyo banana) but the fan favorite was the yuzu pie. Great spot I will return to when I visit for work and will recommend to anyone visiting Austin.
We've been coming here for date night since our first day two years ago. We are always pleased with the service and the sushi! Such a great vibe, quality sushi and friendly staff! Shout out to Kevin for always fantastic service with a smile! It's the reason we always come back.
Better than crack! In all seriousness, I haven't had crack. But I have eaten a lot of sushi. And Lucky Robot has ruined any hope of finding sushi anywhere close to the almost religious experience I had on Saturday. THE best sushi experience I have ever had. 10 stars!
Wow want to give this place six stars lol Kendra our most excellent server guiding us through the menu and her selections did not disappoint. She's so amazing This place dry ages the fish and the texture and flavor is beyond tasty they also serve Tamari for the needing GF soy sauce Highly recommend this place. We were so full after we had to walk back into downtown Austin The Tuna Flight and Serrano Hamachi were my favs but everything was all the stars there is some heat now in that Serrano dish lol
Angie lead us through one of the best food experiences I've ever had. Started with the pork dumplings, which were perfect. We kept the dish after we finished the dumplings to dip things into the sauce. Followed that with the Wayu Taku Taku. Maybe the best steak I've had in my life. finished off with the Yuzu pie. Exquisite. Like a light and fruity cheesecake piled with berries and decorated with burnt dollops of marshmallow. I could not recommend this more highly. As an aside, I knew I was in for a good meal when the tea arrived already steeped and without leaves still in the pot. Every detail was paid attention to.
The food was delicious and Aaron was a delight--he helped us navigate the Gluten Free experience. I will definitely be back! Get the Sea-3PO roll, you won't regret it!
A little overpriced but a solid sushi place with super sweet waiters. Our food came out so fast too! The decor inside is fun and playful, but stylish. Feels like a spot that fits the vibe of Congress. We got edamame, the yellow tail crudo, crispy barbacoa dumplings, chicken karaage, the crunchy atomic salmon roll, and the hiramasa shrimp battle roll. We also got their sour mezcal cocktail. Would def recommend the cocktail as it was well balanced. The flavor of lemon isn't particularly strong, in case you're wondering. The yellow tail crudo was good, and light in terms of flavor. I'm glad the jalapeños actually had a bit of kick to them otherwise the crudo would have been a touch boring. It was hard to really taste the coconut water imo. The crispy barbacoa dumplings were good, but I wouldn't say the barbacoa had classic barbacoa flavor. Loved the sauce that came with the dumplings - it had good kick to it. The chicken karaage was delicious. It wasn't as crispy as expected because they toss the chicken in sauce. The sauce was a touch sweet. I am not sure where the panko was in our salmon roll or why it was considered crunchy. I ended up liking the hiramasa shrimp battle roll much more than the crunchy salmon roll even though I don't typically like tempura in my rolls. Looking forward to coming back!
Lucky Robot is a popular restaurant in the South Congress district and typically has a wait time of 1+ hours. They offer indoor seating, which constantly has the AC running. My friend and I opted for the outdoor seating since it was a pleasant evening. They were busy, so it took 45 minutes to place an order and get the food. We ordered the Spicy Edamame, which came with a side of a dry, spicy sauce. This is some of the best edamame I've had, and it's a 10/10. We also got the Voltron and Sea-3PO rolls. The Voltron was 9/10 and my favorite because it was topped with different fish, so each bite tasted a little different. The Sea-3PO is a house popular, but I give it a 6.5/10 because it didn't taste that great.
This was a real treat. My sister brought me here during my visit. Firstly, the atmosphere is just stunning. What a beautiful, calming place. Staff here was very friendly, professional and warm. As a starter, totally recommend the spicy Edamame. It actually doesn't need the side dish of spice; whatever Hoisin magic they use, is good enough. Couldn't stop eating it. We tried the DILL-E which was my absolute favorite. Flour tempura roll, Atlantic salmon, pickled cucumber, avocado, dill, cashew salsa macha, shishito ranch. Goodness gracious. The Toro Fig was probably the prettiest things I've seen in a plate at any sushi place. I've never would have thought to add fig with fish but here we are. Delicious! Bigeye tuna, figs, candied cashew, micro arugula, ponzu... YUM. I wish I could remember the last item we ordered because it was good and it was topped with jalapeno. I was too busy shoving my face with food that I couldn't keep track. Kudos to Kevin who was hella awesome!! Sit at the sushi bar and say hello. Bring your friends or go solo, it's a must try. Will be coming back on my next visit.
